Ink Factory review: cartridge offers, delivery and returns to check

Visit the Ink Factory website

A printer has a special talent for running low on ink just when you need it. Ink Factory is worth a look if you want to buy replacement cartridges online, but the useful questions go beyond the colourful multipack: what exactly are you ordering, when might it arrive, and what happens if you choose the wrong one?

This is a desk-based review of Inkfactory.com’s current website and shopping policies, checked on 2 October 2026. We have not ordered cartridges, tested print quality or contacted its support team. Our judgement concerns the shopping information available, rather than how its ink performs in your printer.

What does Ink Factory sell?

The homepage centres on cartridges for Brother, Canon, Epson and HP printers. Its finder asks for a brand, series and model, and the site also links to printer-specific collections. That gives shoppers a more useful starting point than guessing from a cartridge photograph.

Many prominent listings are described as compatible cartridges. Read that description carefully: a cartridge advertised for an Epson or HP printer is not necessarily an original cartridge made by that printer brand. Check the product type, cartridge reference and your full printer model before buying. If the match is unclear, ask Ink Factory to confirm the exact listing.

This is a supplies shop, so it suits a different task from ordering finished print. If you need professionally printed business cards rather than ink for your home printer, our MOO review covers that separate route.

Look at the whole offer, not just the discount

When checked, the Premium Compatible Epson 603XL multipack listing showed £19.99 including VAT and an offer supplying eight cartridges in total. That is a snapshot of one offer, not a price promise or a recommendation for every Epson owner.

For a useful comparison, check the number of cartridges, colours, product type and delivery charge against the same requirements elsewhere. A bigger bundle only helps if you need its contents. We have not measured cartridge life, verified the advertised page yields or established that Ink Factory is the cheapest supplier.

The ordering page says prices include VAT where applicable and can change. Use the current basket total when making your decision, especially if a promotion has changed since you first looked.

UK delivery: useful options, with timing to check

The delivery page says Ink Factory aims to dispatch orders placed by 5pm on the same working day. It does not dispatch at weekends or on bank holidays, and warns that busy periods can add a day. Dispatch is the parcel leaving the seller, not the parcel reaching your door.

The listed options are standard delivery from £0.75, described as taking one to two working days; priority delivery from £1.75, described as next day Monday to Saturday; and free economy delivery, described as taking two working days. These are published service descriptions and starting prices, rather than a guarantee for your order.

There is a small threshold ambiguity: the page introduces free delivery as applying above £15, while the economy option says £15 or more. If your basket lands exactly on £15, check the checkout charge. The page also says it does not ship outside the UK. For a deadline, confirm the available service, total price and arrival estimate before paying.

Returns: keep the packaging and get a returns number

The returns policy gives a 90-day window from purchase for an incorrect item or change of mind, provided it is unopened and in a resalable condition. It offers an exchange or refund in that situation, but says additional delivery postage will not be refunded.

That makes checking the model before opening anything worthwhile. Piglington would rather spend a minute reading a printer label than an afternoon discovering that enthusiasm is not a compatibility check.

Contact support before sending goods back: the policy requires a valid returns number. It specifically warns against using any cartridge-recycling envelope supplied with the order, because goods sent to the recycling address will be processed for recycling rather than a refund or exchange.

The page says an exchange, credit or refund may take up to 14 days after the warehouse receives the goods. It does not clearly explain who pays return postage in every situation. Although the product listing displays free-returns wording, ask support about your particular return and any prepaid label before posting it.

How much reassurance does the guarantee provide?

The guarantee page advertises a lifetime cartridge warranty and a refund-or-replacement promise. Its short wording is broader than the detailed returns page, which sets conditions and lists exclusions, including used items and items where the reported fault is not found.

If a cartridge has already been installed, ask how the fault process applies and what information support needs. We would not read the headline promise as an unconditional refund entitlement. Nor have we independently verified the website’s printer-warranty or compatibility assurances. The returns page says its policy does not affect statutory rights.

Support and our verdict

The contact page provides an enquiry form and telephone number, 0333 344 6843. It lists phone hours of 12.30pm to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays, and aims to answer enquiries within 24 hours during working hours, with longer waits at weekends. That is an aim, not a response time we have tested.

Ink Factory is worth comparing for a planned cartridge restock: the model finder, visible bundle details and published delivery choices offer a practical starting point. The main cautions are choosing the precise product, checking the delivered price, and understanding the returns conditions before opening it. For an urgent job or an uncertain printer match, get those answers first. The shopping information supports a closer look; it cannot tell us how reliably the ink will perform for you.
